The Visiting Fellow Program is intended as a unique Stanford experience for those selected. Associate, Senior and Principle Members are invited to send their selected staff to work at Stanford on topics of interest. The Center’s faculty and students benefit from the close association and experience of the Visiting Fellow. Stanford's Visiting Fellows are subject to the policies described in Stanford's Visiting Scholar's Research Policy Handbook

Member companies that have sent Visiting Fellows to Stanford have found that they return with many new skills and insights into the application of advanced technologies. In addition, they gain contacts and friends at Stanford and industry that can be an important source of support and knowledge in the future.

A Visiting Fellow sent to SCPNT typically becomes part of an existing research team and is given office space with access to all facilities of the SCPNT. In addition, they can audit Stanford classes and attend colloquia at no additional charge. If a Visiting Fellow desires to work on an individual research project, the Center will work to match them with an appropriate faculty member who can guide their research.

At the Associate level, Center membership entitles the Company to send a staff member to work at Stanford for one month each year. At the Senior level, Center membership entitles the Company to send a staff member to work at Stanford for three months a year. At the Principle level, Center membership entitles the Company to send a staff member to work at Stanford for nine months a year. If possible, arrangement may be made for the Visiting Fellow to stay for a longer period for an additional charge.
